Opium War Museum

Visiting museum exhibitions has increased in popularity as a modern cultural activity. In the beginning of 2019, the Opium War Museum opened three new exhibitions to the public, namely the Jade Exhibition of Shang & Zhou Dynasties, Humen Fort Artworks Exhibition and the Duan Ink Slab Culture & Art Exhibition.

Jade Exhibition of Shang & Zhou Dynasties

The exhibition brought together more than 400 pieces of jade articles from the Shang Dynasty to the Warring States Period. It mainly introduces several vassal states of the southern Zhou Dynasty and also made a joint exhibition of jade artefacts from Chu, Shen, Shu, and Yang States. The cultural relics on display were representative of the prosperous Chinese civilization during various periods of the Shang and Zhou dynasties. Most of the cultural artefacts were national second-level and third-level cultural relics, which are valuable for both academic research and popular science education.
