The New Symphony Orchestra Berlin was founded in 2003. The initiator was the musicologist and today's director Lutz Daberkow.

To date, the orchestra has developed an extensive repertoire that is constantly being expanded. The repertoire ranges from baroque music to 20th century compositions.

The more than 40 concerts in the ballroom of the Red City Hall are a nice tradition. The concert program ranged from operettas and opera evenings on Franz Schubert and Ludwig van Beethoven to Richard Wagner's "Wesendonck-Lieder" and the “Four Last Lieder" by Richard Strauss.

The New Symphony Orchestra Berlin has a large number of outstanding soloists among its musicians. They played major solo concerts by Robert Schumann, Peter Tchaikovsky, Max Bruch and Camille Saint-Saëns.

The Orchestra also has a long-term cooperation with the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin in student education.
