Dongguan dragon-boat teams have received the gold cup in the international dragon-boat competitions held in Hong Kong, Macau, Canada, Singapore and Dongguan numerous times. In 2000, Shatian Town has been given the first title of honor “the homeland of dragon-boat” by China Dragon-boat Association, General Administration of Sport of China. It has been the great “Scenery of Dongguan” that Shilong and other waterside regions annually hold a series of dragon-boat competitions continually from May 1st to May 5th of the lunar year.
