Guangdong’s Sino-EU two-way cargo train inaugurated     04/13/2017 10:33

Guangdong’s Sino-EU two-way cargo train left Shilong of Dongguan city on Tuesday afternoon (April 11), marking a new logistics passageway from China to Europe. The inauguration of this Sino-EU two-way cargo train is expected to boost the trade between Guangdong and the countries along China’s Belt and Road initiative.

The train set off from the Guangdong Railway International Logistics Base, transporting 41 containers of communications equipment, home appliances, furniture and electronic components, and will arrive at its destination, Vorsino, Russia, after 14 days. As a full-service operator and platform for the China-EU railway, the China Railway Container Transport Company has launched two Sino-EU trains, in Dongguan and Guangzhou, since last April. These trains transported commodities from Guangdong to countries along China’s Belt and Road initiative, including Kazakhstan, Russia, the Czech Republic, Germany and Sweden. The trains will cut up to 30 days off shipping times, and is only one fifth of the cost of air freight.

In the future, the frequency of Guangdong’s Sino-European two-way trains will be increased by bringing more European commodities such as food and consumer goods to Guangdong.
