Over the past two years, under the support of People’s Government of Guangdong Province, the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo Secretariat and People’s Government of Dongguan City have visited South Africa twice , holding MSRIE promotion roadshow in Durban, a beautiful city on the Indian Ocean coast, setting off MSRIE boom locally. Since Dongguan Commodity South Africa Display Center was established in Durban since July 2016, it has developed into an effective platform for economy and trade exchanges and cooperation between Dongguan and Durban, promoting Guangdong the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo, and attracting local officials and merchants to MSRIE.

I am pleased to see that under joint efforts of Guangdong Province, Dongguan City and Chinese Consulate General in Durban, the South African KwaZulu-NatalProvincial Government participated in 2016 Guangdong the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo for the first time in October last year. South African Pavilion was set up first time in MSRIE, as cooperation between the two sides started from scratch, showing bright prospects and great potentiality. At present, MSRIE is being recognized and known by more and more officials and merchants in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Year by year, the popularity, importance and influence of MSRIE are increasing, more and more delegates are looking forward to attending the MSRIE from KwaZulu-Natal Province, and so do the other provinces. It is gratifying thatKwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government is planning to set up South Africa Commodity China (Dongguan) Exhibition and Trade Center, following the same concept of establishment of Dongguan Commodity South AfricaDisplay Center in Durban.

The establishment of the twin centers is an achievement of “MSRIE” cooperation between the sister provinces - Guangdong and KwaZulu-Natal. I believe that with the help of MSRIE and this two centers, we can promote pragmatic exchanges and cooperationin the fields of economy, trade and culture in the two friendly provinces, achieving a win-win situation.

There is sailing on Durban port with waves patting on the Indian Ocean coast. Taking advantage of “Belt and Road” initiative, the ship of MSR cooperation between Guangdong and KwaZulu-Natal has departed from Durban toward a bright future. I wish 2017 Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo every success, and the ship of MSR cooperation between Guangdong and KwaZulu-Natal bring brilliant  results.
