Songshan Lake ranks 23rd among National High-Tech Zones     01/12/2018 11:00

Released from their high technology industry development centre, the Ministry of Science and Technology recently published their evaluation ranking of the 2017 national high-tech zones. Their ranking of Songshan Lake's comprehensive strength puts it 23rd in the country, 3rd in Guangdong Province and first among prefecture-level cities in the province. Its strength of globalization and participation in global competition has also risen from 22nd in 2016 to 15th in 2017.

As data from Songshan Lake High-tech Development Zone in Dongguan shows, there are 26 new research and development institutions and 34 "Expert of the Thousand Talents Plan". Meanwhile, 30 scientific research platforms for doctors, 5 work stations for academics and experts, and 45 national, provincial or city-level engineering research centres have all been specially built. Between January to November last year, 3 newly-added provincial-level incubators, 4 provincial-level group innovation spaces, and 8 national-level incubators were established in the zone. The incubator nurturing system is presently being gradually refined to the highest standards.

Nurturing of national hi-tech enterprises in Songshan Lake has also reached a new level. In 2017, there were a total of 250 hi-tech enterprises in the zone, ranking the first in the city. The robotics industry in Songshan Lake also witnesses a cluster development with now more than 50 newly-added robot and intelligent equipment industry enterprises in the zone.
