As artificial intelligence is a comprehensive discipline that covers multiple fields, the association should strive to facilitate collaborative cooperation across different industries and different fields. Thirdly, the association is expected to form some replicable and applicable experience and formulate relevant policies and regulations for the reference of other localities and the country at large.

Guangdong needs to attach importance to the cultivation of AI talents in industrial control

Following the establishment of Dongguan New Generation of Artificial Intelligence Industry and Technology Innovation Association, many academicians, experts, industrial leaders have delivered speeches about the development of AI, illustrating development trajectories from multiple angles for AI as an emerging industry.

Li Guojie, Academician of the CAE and Chief Scientist of the Institute of Computing Technology of the CAS expressed in his speech “Focus on artificial intelligence infrastructure and talents cultivation” that cultivation of AI talents in China was by no means simply producing more post graduates and PhD candidates, for this could not eliminate the shortage of AI talents. “The way-out lies in application of reverse thinking pattern. Efforts should be made to build toolchain and public development platforms to lower the AI talent threshold and collective efforts from higher institutions and enterprises are also essential” Li Guojie said. Dongguan and Guangdong province as a whole should make efforts to nurture talents in the field of industrial control under AI so as to make up for its weaknesses and form development strengths.
