China held a national day of mourning to commemorate martyrs lost during the epidemic fight and others who have died during the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak on 4th April.
As of 3rd April 2020, 3,326 people in China had died of the COVID-19 virus.
National flags flew at half-mast across Dongguan City for the day. Public recreational activities across the city were also suspended.
At 10:00am, people in Dongguan observed a three minute silence for the deceased. Air raid sirens blared while cars on the road honked horns as a mark of respect.
