On January 14th, 2021, Dongguan reported a new case of asymptomatic infection with COVID-19, who was a close contact with the Hong Kong cross-border truck driver surnamed Lin, as notified by Shenzhen on January 12th. In recent days, sources claim that the close contact also visited Liaobu Town and Shilong Town in addition to Qiaotou Town. So, what is the exact situation? Here's what the official sources say.

Liaobu Town

According to the city's preliminary epidemiological investigation results, Liaobu Town quickly investigated the evidence about the close contacts and sub-close contacts. On the evening of January 15, they learned that one of the close contacts (whose two nucleic acid test results were negative) had visited Liaobu Town. After an overnight investigation organized by the town's epidemic control & prevention authority, it found that the close contact had stayed at a building in Liaobu Town for a short while on January 8th.

According to the requirements of the Municipal CDC, Liaobu Town quickly launched its emergency plan on the morning of January 16th to implement temporary disinfection and control measures on the building, and organized "two testing in three days" nucleic acid screening.

The first-round nucleic acid screening has been completed on January 16th.

Shilong Town

So far, investigations has found that there are 0 close contacts and one sub-close contact who have visited Shilong Town. In accordance with the epidemic prevention and control guidelines, relevant personnel were rapidly sent to a centralized isolation hotel for medical observation. The result of the personnel's nucleic acid test taken on January 15th was negative.

Qiaotou Town

As the case had visited the store at the Kaiye Paper Products Factory in Qiaotou Town (Add: No. 2, Xipian 1st Street, Shishuikou Village, Qiaotou Town 桥头镇石水口村西片一街2号之一) many times on January 10th and 11th and stayed there for a long time, there is a higher risk for the virus at the store. On January 16th, the COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention & Control Command Office of Qiaotou Town issued an announcement, appealing to people who has visited the above-mentioned store from 13:00 on January 10th to 20:00 on January 11th to contact the local CDC as soon as possible (contact: Zhang Yu, Tel: 82829890).

In addition, people who have been to places where the asymptomatic infected case surnamed Mo lives and visited during the specific period and have not yet taken nucleic acid tests, should go to the Qiaotou Town Community Health Service Center to take the free nucleic acid test as soon as possible (Add: Qiaoguang Avenue, Qiaotou Town (No. 237, Shishuikou Section) 桥头镇桥光大道（石水口段237号）) with their ID cards and proper personal protection.

So far, Qiaotou Town has carried out large-scale nucleic acid testing for COVID-19 in a rapid and orderly manner. A total of 129,268 people's samples were collected for tests and the results of 121,930 have been received, all of which are negative.
