On June 20, Machong Town of Dongguan City reported a locally-transmitted confirmed case of COVID-19, which was a close contact of Li, the confirmed case of the city on June 18.
The case surnamed Jia, male, 19 years old, is a boarding student at the Dongguan campus of Guangzhou Xinhua University (广州新华学院东莞校区), located in Machong Town. In the early morning of June 19, he was identified as a close contact of Li, a previous confirmed case of Dongguan City on June 18.
The epidemic prevention and control commands at the city and town levels soon activated the emergency response mechanism and implemented management and control measures on the campus.
On June 20, Jia's nucleic acid testing result was shown to be positive after re-examination, then he was transferred to a designated hospital for isolation and treatment. After experts consultation, he was diagnosed as a confirmed case of COVID-19 (the common one).
At present, the epidemiological survey of the case and the tracking and management of his close contacts are progressing in an orderly manner. Terminal disinfection measures have been adopted in relevant places and areas. Close-off management has been implemented at the Dongguan campus of Guangzhou Xinhua University.
After preliminary screening, the confirmed case has visited the following key places in Machong Town, Dongguan:
June 5-June 11, had meals at the Chuangkefang Food Street (创客坊美食街) at the school gate and went for a walk in Huayanghu Wetland Park (华阳湖公园).
On the evening of June 12, went to "DHair", Machong town (麻涌“DHair”理发店), for haircuts, and then to the McDonald’s in Dynacity Shopping Center, Machong town (麻涌星河城商场“麦当劳餐厅”) for a meal.
On the evening of June 14, went to KKV Supermarket and Watsons in Dynacity Shopping Center (星河城商场KKV超市、屈臣氏), and the Yidiandian store in Chuangkefang (创客坊“一点点”), Machong town for shopping, and then went for a walk in Huayanghu Wetland Park (华阳湖公园).
On the evening of June 15, went to the Yizhan convenience store in Chuangkefang (创客坊“易站便利店”) for shopping, then headed for dinner at Lanzhou Beef Noodles at Gumei Road (古梅路兰州牛肉拉面), and then went for a walk in Huayanghu Wetland Park (华阳湖公园).
On the evening of June 16, went for a walk in Huayanghu Wetland Park (华阳湖公园).
June 17, went to the SPAR Supermarket (嘉荣超市) and MINISO (名创优品) in Dynacity Shopping Center (星河城商场), Machong town after dinner.
June 5- June 18, except for visiting the above locations, he was on campus all the time.
In the early morning of June 19, as a close contact of Li, the previous confirmed COVID-19 case, he was sent to the university's Academic Exchange Center for quarantine and medical observation, and then transferred to a designated hospital for isolation and treatment in a closed-loop procedure.
The general public is requested to take proper personal protection measures, wear masks scientifically, wash hands frequently, ensure regular ventilation, maintain social distancing, take the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible, and cooperate with the anti-epidemic measures.
