Enterprises and residents in Dongguan will receive a "gift package" with a total value of 660 million yuan issued by the municipal government of Dongguan ahead of the Chinese New Year.

The "gift package" includes 10 measures in science-tech innovation, tourism, shopping, and training to stabilize employment, support enterprises, and benefit residents during the Chinese New Year holiday.

As a "world factory", the government allocates 65 million yuan to support the normal operation of key industrial enterprises with orders and markets. Manufacturing enterprises with an operating income of 20 million yuan in the first quarter and a year-on-year increase of at least 15% will receive a maximum reward of one million yuan. Discounted loan interest rates will be offered to manufacturing enterprises with operating income of 50 million yuan in the first quarter and a year-on-year increase of at least 15%. Also, the reduction of rates for unemployment insurance and work-related injury insurance will be extended to April 30, 2022.

To help science-tech enterprises reduce operating costs, the government has allocated 10 million yuan to provide a 20% cost subsidy for equipment for scientific research activities. Technology enterprises that settled in Dongguan Songshan Lake International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Community in the first quarter will receive subsidies for rent and scientific research equipment usage fees, a maximum of 100,000 yuan each.

The "gift package" also highlighted the concern for non-local household registration personnel who stay in Dongguan for the Chinese New Year with a "red envelope"  of 500 million yuan. Non-Dongguan household registration personnel who participate in the basic pension insurance for enterprise employees in Dongguan can receive a 500 RMB e-coupon for consumption at the businesses participating in the Dongguan Shopping Festival within the specified time limit.

In addition, the Dongguan Federation of Trade Unions has also arranged 10 million yuan to fund activities for workers. Cantonese dishes and gift packs will be delivered to couriers, car-hailing drivers, truck drivers, sanitation workers, and construction workers who stay in Dongguan for the Chinese New Year. Migrant workers in difficulty will also receive timely assistance during their stay in Dongguan for the Chinese New Year.

The Chinese New Year holiday could also be an excellent opportunity to learn something new. Dongguan will offer free training activities for corporate employees. Via online learning platforms, more than 1,000 vocational skills training courses will be provided free, allowing employees to improve their vocational skills continuously.

Besides, the local authority has also pledged to guarantee sufficient supplies of daily necessities, food and energy during the holiday period.

The above measures will be effective from January 7, 2022 to March 31, 2022. Such provisions shall prevail if the relevant policies or measures have a clear implementation time.
