Big news for Guangzhou travelers! The much-anticipated second terminal (T2) at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is scheduled to open on April 26, the Guangdong Airport Authority has announced.

With an area of 880,700 square meters, T2 will feature 397 check-in counters and a parking lot that can accommodate 5,127 cars.

The 16 airlines will move their operations from T1 to T2 on April 26. To avoid glitches such as going to the wrong terminal, you are advised to check the following airlines moving to T2:

China Southern Airlines

China Eastern Airlines

China Airlines

Xiamen Airlines

Hebei Airlines

Chongqing Airlines

Sichuan Airlines

Shanghai Airlines

China United Airlines

Air France

Korean Air

Vietnam Airlines

Kenya Airways

Garuda Indonesia

The 54 other airlines flying in and out of Baiyun — such as Air China — will continue to operate out of Terminal 1.

How can passengers get to T2?

To provide a convenient transportation option for travelers, the metro station, Airport North, at the northernmost extension of Line 3, will directly link to T2 and also will start operations on April 26.

What other steps can passengers take before going to the airport?

Call your airline to confirm your flight gate and terminal. Upon arrival, double-check display boards to be sure there have been no changes. Print your boarding pass or save the digital one in your mobile phone before arriving, if possible, to avoid possible problems at check-in kiosks. A carry-on bag will avoid delays in baggage tagging and handling.
