Guangzhou attracts Nobel Prize winners

With new generations of information technology, artificial intelligence and biomedicine (IAB) emerging as key industries in Guangzhou, more and more top scientists from around the world are becoming an essential force behind the development of the IAB industry in Guangzhou.

Recently, GPHL officially hired Randy W.Schekman, recipient of the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physiology, to act as its chief scientist. Previously the group had appointed Fred Murad, recipient of the 1998 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, to serve as the Dean of the Research Institute, and George Fitzgerald Smoot, the recipient of the 2006 Nobel Prize in Physics, to act as Dean of the Institute of Medical Devices.
According to reports, Schekman is currently researching a new anti-tumor drug. Schekman will continue to work with GPHL to conduct exchanges and cooperate on cancer drug research and development, among other areas.
