Guangdong delegation participates in Asian Culture and Tourism Exhibition

Hosted by China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the three-day Asian Culture and Tourism Exhibition helping visitors to better understand the continent's civilizations opened in Beijing on May 16th.

As one of the major sideline events of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations, the exhibition also brought cultural and tourist businesses together for potential partnerships, according to the Beijing News.

Covering 30,000 square meters of the National Agricultural Exhibition Center, the event represents a gathering of governments, travel agencies, hotels, resorts and airlines across China and from more than 30 Asian countries and regions, including Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Art performances and games were available for the audience savor what Asia has to offer.

A Guangdong delegation led by Zhang Yimin, vice head of the provincial culture and tourism department, took part in the exhibition. The delegation consisted of over 90 people from culture and tourism departments of 10 Guangdong cities. Among them 10 are inheritors of intangible cultural heritages.

The Guangdong pavilion at the exhibition displayed cultural heritages from the province, including dancing lion, Meixian Puppet, Dongguan incense, dough figurine and Chishang milk tea, attracting masses of businessmen, tourists and media practitioners.
