Zhuhai City in south China's Guangdong Province, which neighbors the Macao Special Administrative Region, reported two new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases on Sunday, local authorities announced at a press briefing.
Both patients who live in Nanping Town of Xiangzhou District are close contacts of a confirmed COVID-19 case registered on Friday.
To curb the spread of COVID-19, Zhuhai decided to launch three rounds of citywide nucleic acid testing from Sunday to Tuesday, close the scenic spots in the city and suspend dine-in services of the restaurants in Xiangzhou District.
