According to the Guangdong Snow and Ice Sports Association, between 15 and 20 athletes from Guangdong are set to compete in the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics.

The Guangdong athletes are set to make their competition debut on the third day of the lunar New year.

At present, nearly 20 athletes are undergoing preparations for the Winter Olympics, including ten female athletes who will most likely qualify and compete in the women’s ice hockey events.

Peng Junyue, also from Guangdong, has gained enough points to qualify and will participate in the doubles' luge and team relay at the Games.

The Opening ceremony for Beijing 2022 will take place on February 4, while the closing ceremony will be staged on February 20.
