Typhoon to bring rainfall to west GD, hot weather continues

Typhoon Noru, though not expected to land in Guangdong, will bring heavy rain and localized rainstorms to the western part of the province from September 28 to 29, according to the Guangdong Meteorological Observatory.

At 14:00 this afternoon (September 26), its center was located on the sea about 510 km east to south of Sansha City, Hainan Province. The maximum wind near the center was 40m/s. It is forecast to make landfall on the eastern coast of Vietnam on the morning of September 28, according to the National Meteorological Observatory of CMA.

Under the influence of the subtropical high, from Tuesday to Thursday, north and central Guangdong will be sunny to cloudy with highs over 35℃.

On September 27, west Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta will experience thundershowers. The rest of the province will see a clear-to-cloudy sky, and localized thundershowers accompanied by short-term winds.

From September 28 to 29, there will be heavy rain with localized rainstorms in coastal areas of west Guangdong. Scattered thundershowers are likely for south Guangdong while clear-to-cloudy weather is forecast for north and central Guangdong, with possible localized thundershowers.

Scattered thundershowers are predicted for Guangzhou in the next few days, yet it will still be hot with highs over 35℃.
