COVID-19 was detected on samples collected from the surface of a batch of imported frozen chicken wings during an inspection of cold-chain foods in Shenzhen last week. This batch of chicken wings was imported from Brazil, and had also been found in Dongguan's local markets. In response, the Dongguan epidemic prevention and control authority immediately deployed a general inspection throughout the city last week.

As of 8am on 14th August, 802 samples had been collected from personnel, products, packages and environment that might be connected. All have tested negative for the virus.

The local authority of each town and district has placed all inventories of questionable products under seal. Products sold from the same batch are currently being traced. The related premises, packages and storage environment have already been disinfected to eliminate risks.
