DG hosts business promotion webinar for int'l friendship cities

Dongguan Tech and Trade Promotion Webinar 2022, organized by Dongguan Foreign Affairs Bureau, was successfully held on December 14th, joined by executives of nearly 30 companies from 8 of Dongguan's friendship cities and partner cities from Belarus, Brazil, Israel, and Portugal, as well as representatives of 80 local enterprises from Dongguan and Mudanjiang, to jointly explore business opportunities by respectively promoting their business and cooperation projects.

Deputy Consul General Glaucio Veloso of Brazil in Guangzhou, Deputy Director Alexey Pushkarev of Belarus National Agency of Investment and Privatization, President Henry Osvald of BraCham China, Executive Secretary General Wilson Quinteiro of CODESUL attended the webinar. Mr LYU Chengxi, Mayor of Dongguan Municipality, delivered a video speech. Mr Chen Zhiwei, Standing Committee Member of the CPC Dongguan Municipal Committee, made a keynote speech.

Mayor Lyu extended a warm welcome to all participants both at home and abroad. He pointed out that Dongguan is a world-famous manufacturing hub. There are more than 200,000 industrial enterprises in the city. Apart from that, one of every three toys, every five smartphones, every five sweaters and every ten pairs of sports shoes in the world are made in Dongguan. Dongguan is a powerhouse for technology & innovation. There are more than 9,000 national high-tech enterprises in the city. It also has China’s first and world’s fourth Spallation Neutron Source. Dongguan is a major city of foreign trade. It has established economic and trade ties with more than 200 countries and regions with an annual import and export volume that exceeds 1.5 trillion yuan, making it the fifth largest foreign trade city in China. Dongguan is a city that values friendship. It has built friendly relations with 25 sister cities and friendship cities across the globe.
