On March 19, the manufacturing powerhouse Dongguan announced the official launch of its AI Model Center, China's first city-level AI model center dedicated to manufacturing. By leveraging AI, Dongguan seeks to strengthen its competitive edge, boost productivity, and cultivate new drivers of economic growth.
The Dongguan AI Model Center, developed by Dongguan Digital Group with the technological backbone of Huawei's software and hardware infrastructure, offers three core services to manufacturers:
Computing power:
The center provides secure, high-performance AI computing resources, hosted in Huawei Cloud Data Center (Dongguan). It supports major industry-standard open-source models, including DeepSeek, ensuring accessible and scalable AI deployment.
Open AI models:
Five key AI models power the platform, including three foundational models in natural language processing, computer vision, and predictive analytics, along with two industry-specific models for manufacturing knowledge and visual inspection. These tools help companies solve complex industrial challenges with AI-driven insights.
AI engineering tools:
The center streamlines model training and inference services, improving resource efficiency by 30% and reducing AI application development time by up to 90%. This ensures a seamless integration of AI into manufacturing production lines, bridging the gap between research and real-world application.
Looking ahead, the center aims to establish over 50 AI-driven advanced manufacturing applications by 2025, with a target of more than 135 by 2027. This initiative not only accelerates Dongguan's intelligent manufacturing transformation but also serves as a model for AI adoption in the global industrial sector.
