Dongcheng covers an area of 110 square kilometers, and is one of the four main streets of Dongguan City. It administers 2 state-owned forest farms and 23 communities, with a total population of nearly 500,000; (a 87,600 registered population and a 400,000 temporary population.) In recent years, Dongcheng has applied scientific rationale in promoting social and economic transformation and has achieved good results. As a modern town with a perfect geographical position, Dongcheng is a beautiful place with high level of civilization and internationalization.
Based on the central planning objective, Dongcheng has constructed a business area with Dongcheng Avenue as the core, surrounded by Garden New Village, Zhushan, Dongtai, Xiaqiao and Tongsha. Business and trade complexes have also been built, which include Shibo Plaza, Century Plaza, Yifeng City Business Street, 13-dish Restaurant Street, International Featured Bar Street, Trust-Mart, Carrefour and Haiya Department Store.
