Located in eastern Dongguan, Changping Town is situated in middle of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen economic corridor. The town covers 103 square kilometers, with a registered population of 86,600 and temporary population of about 400,000. Changping was honored as “The First Town along Beijing-Kowloon Railway” because it ranks highest in terms of economic strength among counties (cities) along the Beijing-Kowloon railway line.
Changping is the “Town of Excellence in Education of Guangdong Province.”Changping is an advanced town in cultural construction in Dongguan City. The town is home to the Grand Theater, Cultural Plaza and Railway Park. Changping also have many cultural activities throughout the year, such as “Happy Changping,” a commercial festival at the beginning of every year, the Corporate Culture Competition held in the middle of the year, the “Dongguan Gourmet Festival” at the end of year, and the “Guangdong International Beer Festival” held every two years. Furthermore, literary and artistic creation is active in Changping, and the town was named the “Base for Creating Playlet and Opusculum”  by the Chinese Dramatists Association, and the works of artists in Changping have won prizes in many national, provincial and municipal competitions.
