Humen Town is a coastal international town located at the east bank of the Pearl River in southwest Dongguan. As an important town in the south, Humen plays an important role in business development around the Pearl River Delta, and is an international trading and commercial center for the garment industry. Besides, Human is also a national patriotism education base, logistic center and electronic information base of Dongguan.
Humen enjoys a dominant position in sea, land and air transportation and is as an economic corridor between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau.. For water transport, it is connected with Dongjiang River, Xijiang River and Beijiang River; which directly linking it to Hong Kong, Macau and other coastal ports of South China. For land transport, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Zhuhai Expressway, Hugang Expressway, Riverside Expressway and the S256 Provincial Highway allow convenient transportation to the main cities in the Pearl River Delta in less than one hour. For air transport, the Shenzhen Airport is only 25 minutes away. Construction of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Passenger Special Railway, the Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Special Track Railway and the light rail R2 line have also increased the convenience and efficiency of the Humen’s modern rail transportation system.
Humen has a long cultural history and abundant tourism resources, which include the Humen Bridge, Opium War Museum (National cultural relics), Former Residence of Jiang Guangding, Beiqiu Ruins of Cuntou Village (Provincial cultural relics), Zhu Zhixin Monument, Liping Ancestral Shrine, Chen Lianfeng’s Tomb, Ni Shui Liu Gui Village Castle, Guo’s Temple, Family Zheng’s Ancestral Hall and Zheng Yu’s Tomb (Municipicial cultural relics).
