Ma Ge

Ma Ge is a kind of snack which dates back to the Qin Dynasty. Rong Ai, a famous Dongguan historian, had some influence on the origin of the name. Ge in Cantonese means a section, but in ancient times there was no character for the pronunciation of Ge until Rong Ai came along and declared the correct written and pronunciation of the name, apparently.
