Prize of Excellence: Keeping traditions alive above the urban jungle by Julia Axelsson (Sweden)

Her picture recorded two Chinese practicing ancient Chinese Tai Chi. She told us that she took the picture atop Huangqi Mountain in Qifeng Park which is her favorite place in Dongguan. She said that Dongguanese do a good job carrying forward this traditional exercise. Every time she visits Qifeng Park, she sees locals exercising, practicing Tai Chi or hiking with children. It is full of life. She goes to the park often, usually three times a week, not just to exercise but also to simply connect with nature. "I never get tired of the different views of the city, of how everything is constantly changing. Every time, I see something new and different."

Julia appreciated this activity and hopes there will be many more activities like this to promote and share the beauty of Dongguan. Dongguan is a charming place awaiting further discovery of hidden beauty.
