On 15th July, vivo announced that its vivo manufacturing centre was officially put into use, marking a new phase in vivo's global strategy. The new centre will take up the leading role of vivo's manufacturing development.
Located in Chang'an town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, the centre has been designed to be the core hub of vivo's production and manufacturing future. The centre, occupying an area of 216, 000 square metres and a total construction area of 345, 000 square metres, may accommodate up to 20,000 employees. It has 14 independent buildings, including a production workshop, warehouse, comprehensive building, office building, parking structure, dormitory building, tech centre and other supporting facilities.

The manufacturing centre sets production as its core and develops a relatively comprehensive industrial chain system for manufacturing, storing and transporting. Its production workshop building has a floor area of 120,000 square metres. To maximise manufacturing capacity and efficiency, the workshop was designed with a logical and functional approach to industrial manufacturing. In addition, a series of strict management and control measures have been adopted in the daily production process. It is estimated to have a monthly production capacity of 6 million phones.
Vivo has under taken independent research & development to establish independent production. The vivo manufacturing centre conducts operations efficiently to ensure a strong production capacity, and to cooperate with its R&D centre closely to maintain advanced technology. This approach hopes to foster imagination and inject new ideas into the products.
In recent years, vivo has launched a series of technological innovations around stabilization and digital imaging. It has also accelerated investment in and development of 5G handsets. In the future, vivo will continue to increase investment in R&D and infrastructure to support independent production and be a leading force in industrial technology upgrades.
