Updates on COVID-19 situation in Dongguan (Aug. 5)

From 00:00 to 12:00 on August 5, Dongguan reported an asymptomatic case, who was a staff member serving in key industries under closed-loop management and was found during the daily routine test.

Detailed information is as follows: 

The asymptomatic case is a 22-year-old female, a key personnel included in the point-to-point closed-loop management. She has no social activities since July 4. From July 4 to August 3, her daily nucleic acid test results were all negative. On the evening of August 4, she tested positive. After re-collection and re-examination by Dongguan CDC in the early morning of August 5, the result remained positive. The case was transferred to the designated hospital for isolation and medical observation in a closed-loop procedure. She was diagnosed as an asymptomatic case after further examination and expert consultation. The traced close contacts and sub-close contacts have been under management as required, and the venues involved have undergone environmental sampling and disinfection.

The general public is requested to consciously abide by the relevant epidemic prevention and control regulations, firmly establishing the awareness that "everyone is responsible for their own health". Please wear masks properly, wash hands frequently, ensure good ventilation and maintain social distancing. Before entering public places, citizens should cooperate with the anti-epidemic measures such as taking temperature checks, wearing a mask, scanning the venue code and showing their itinerary card. Please participate in the nucleic acid tests organized by the village, community or unit where you are located.

After travelling outside Dongguan, individuals are required to take nucleic acid tests twice within 3 days upon arrival (with an interval of at least 24 hours) and practice self-health monitoring. During the period, it is recommended to avoid gatherings, refrain from unnecessary outings, and not go to crowded places. Please take personal protection when going out. Those who have not completed the whole course of the COVID-19 vaccine should take the initiative to go to the designated vaccination point to vaccinate with the vaccine. People who experience fever, dry cough, fatigue, sore throat, decreased sense of smell (taste), nasal congestion, runny nose, conjunctivitis, myalgia, and diarrhoea should go to a nearby fever clinic as soon as possible. They shall practise proper self-protection and avoid public transportation in such cases.
