From January 1, 2022, "Dongguan City Electric Bicycle Management Regulations" was officially implemented, and e-bikes must register and get license plates.

According to "Dongguan City Electric Bicycle Management Regulations", riders who have one of the following acts will be ordered to correct by the traffic management department and imposed a warning or a fine of fifty yuan.

1. Driving unregistered e-bikes on the road.

2. Failure to change the registration of e-bikes.

3. Failure to hang license plates as required or the plates are obscured and defaced.

4. The driver does not wear a safety helmet or carries people illegally.

5. Failure to get off and push e-bikes while crossing the motorway, give priority to pedestrians or drive in accordance with the prescribed lanes.

6. Driving against traffic or speeding.

7. Drunk-driving or driving after taking state-controlled psychotropic or narcotic drugs.

8. Illegally carrying passengers.

9. Illegally driving on the highway.

The following acts will also face penalties:

Suppose you are driving a patchwork, illegal modifications and retrofitting of e-bikes on the road. In that case, you will be ordered to remove the patchwork, illicit modifications and retrofitting devices by the traffic management department and imposed a fine of more than two hundred yuan or less than one thousand yuan.

If you use the forged, altered driving license, number plates or use another person’s driving license and number plate, the traffic management department will seize the forged, altered, fraudulent driving license and number plate. Moreover, a fine of more than two hundred yuan or less than five hundred yuan will be imposed.

If the e-bikes occupy stairwells, evacuation routes, safety exits, fire truck passageway, fire climbing site, as well as obstruct fire truck traffic and fire truck operations, the public security fire control institutions shall order correction, and the unit shall be fined more than five thousand yuan to fifty thousand yuan; the individual shall be warned or be fined two hundred yuan to five hundred yuan.
