The 13th Dongguan Oral English Contest was officially launched today. As one of the 10 million citizens living in this megacity, it is an excellent stage to share your stories with the city and improve your English. Let’s draw a brighter future of new Dongguan together!

New Dongguan, heading for a brighter future

The theme of the contest is New Dongguan, heading for a brighter future. As a city with 1+ trillion yuan GDP and 10+ million population, Dongguan has been changing dramatically. How's your life like in such good times? How to make greater achievements in the new journey, developing better and faster? Participants of each group can share their unique ideas and stories for the New Dongguan, heading for a brighter future in English based on their age, personal experience or what they have seen, heard and felt.

The contest is divided into four groups: primary school group, junior high school group, senior high school group (including general high school and secondary vocational school), adult group (including college students and all classes of society). All English lovers and foreigners who work, live and study in Dongguan are welcomed to participate for free. The deadline for registration is 24:00 on November 23, 2022. Take action now!

Differ from the previous contests, participants are no longer required to upload a self-introduction video in English. Instead, they are required to make a speech directly on the theme of New Dongguan, heading for a brighter future. Participants are inspired to go outside and enjoy the beautiful views, standing in front of the landmarks or the beautiful places of the city as the background of the talks. The video should be last around 50 seconds in landscape mode. This year, each participant has a chance to show themself in public.
