As the Spring Festival approaches, Dongguan is buzzing with the festive spirit. On February 1, the opening of the main venue of the 2024 Dongguan Spring Festival Flower Market marked the official commencement of the city-wide celebration. Citizens are welcomed to stroll through the flower street and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere!
In 2024, a total of 29 towns and districts across the city will host Spring Festival Flower Markets. Notably, 20 towns and districts, including Guancheng, Zhongtang, Shatian, Dalang, Huangjiang, and Zhangmutou, will hold their flower markets for an impressive 15 days, setting a record for scale and duration.
The flower market, located beside Dongguan Central Park, covers an expansive area of approximately 18,000 square meters. The venue is easily accessible, with ample parking near Dongguan Metro Line 2's Xiping Station or the urban rail's Xiping West Station.
Boasting a variety of offerings, including kumquat chrysanthemums, rare and valuable flowers, cultural and creative products, trendy items, delicious cuisine, festive goods, intangible cultural heritage, and celebration essentials, the main venue features around 400 stalls divided into six zones.
The main venue is not only a marketplace but also a hub of entertainment. A performance area hosts cultural shows every day at 3:00 PM and 7:30 PM, providing a delightful blend of traditional festivities and artistic performances.
This year's Spring Flower Market injects new vitality into traditional customs, creating unique and enjoyable spots for New Year snapshots. The "Trendy Nancheng" store, offering creative Spring Festival memorabilia, cleverly merges traditional New Year symbolism with pop culture, adding a touch of trendy happiness to the festivities.
More flower markets in various towns and streets, such as Guancheng and Huangjiang, have also begun operations, providing convenient access for local residents. Each town's flower market incorporates activities like New Year's couplet writing, lion and dragon dance parades, stage plays, music concerts, and intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, creating a warm, joyful, and harmonious festival atmosphere throughout Dongguan.
