Liaobu, known as the "Hometown of Chinese Agarwood" and a renowned hub for rural tourism in China, is famed for its agarwood, drawing numerous domestic and international visitors. Recently, a foreign guest from the United States, Brent, embarked on an immersive journey through Liaobu's popular attractions, exploring the town's traditional and contemporary cultures. The diverse cultural and tourism activities successfully captivated the foreign visitor, who exclaimed, "Liaobu is such a wonderful place!"
The first stop was Xixi Ancient Village. Established in 1489, Xixi Ancient Village is acclaimed as a "Guangdong Province Historical and Cultural Village", preserving structures dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. Brent immersed himself in the Hanfu culture, wandering through the ancient village's historic buildings and delving into Xixi's rich history. His fascination with traditional Chinese culture was ignited, and he relished the unique historical charm during his cultural experience tour.
The second destination was the Agarwood Culture Museum. Under the guidance of a perfumer at the museum, Brent learned the art of incense-making, experiencing ancient incense rituals. Additionally, he toured the museum's agarwood collections, gaining insights into the development history, growth process, and cultural significance of agarwood. The national-level intangible cultural heritage left him in awe.
The final stop was the Dongguan Basketball Center, where the city's vibrant and lively nightlife illuminated Liaobu's "night economy." At 8 p.m., the basketball courts surrounding the Dongguan Basketball Center bustled with citizens, both adults and children, exercising and sweating. Meanwhile, at the adjacent BOX Basketball Alley, a thriving container night market teemed with food stalls, forming a gourmet street that attracted hordes of citizens seeking delicious fare, creating a unique nightscape in Liaobu.
