As Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, many in Dongguan are getting excited about their favorite outdoor activity—barbecues. But with the recent weather developments, particularly the heat warnings and Typhoon Bebinca, the question arises: Will the weather cooperate?
Typhoon Bebinca's approach
Dongguan has been under a heat wave yellow warning. While the heat alone might not be enough to ruin barbecue plans, the more pressing concern comes from the looming typhoon.
Typhoon Bebinca, which formed on September 10, is currently gaining strength over the Northwest Pacific Ocean. Forecasts suggest it could develop into a severe or super typhoon. Fortunately for Guangdong, the current trajectory suggests that Bebinca is expected to head towards the eastern coast of China, landing near Zhejiang on the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival (September 16). However, that doesn’t mean Guangdong, and specifically Dongguan, will remain untouched.
