With the Mid-Autumn Festival just around the corner, Guangdong intercity rail system is ramping up services to meet the surge in travel demand. Whether traveling on the Guangzhou-Huizhou or Guangzhou-Qingyuan lines, passengers can expect smoother journeys with extended schedules and additional trains to accommodate the holiday rush.
During the Mid-Autumn holiday, from September 14 to 17, the Guangzhou-Huizhou line will significantly boost its capacity. On top of the regular weekend timetable, four extra trains will run between Panyu and Xiaojinkou stations starting at 13:00 on the 14th. With more frequent trains, the line will see up to 121 trips daily, reducing the average waiting time from 24 minutes to just 16 minutes.
On September 14 and 17, the last train heading to Xiaojinkou Station from Panyu Station will depart later than usual, extending from 21:21 to 22:56 to better serve those traveling at night.
For the Guangzhou-Qingyuan intercity line, starting on September 14 and 17, an additional direct train between Huadu and Qingcheng stations will run, bringing the total number of direct trips to 56, with the intervals between trains shortened from 53 minutes to 30 minutes.
With these enhancements, travelers are reminded to check train schedules in advance through the 12306 system or station displays. Also, as there may be large crowds, stations might implement passenger control measures for safety, so allow plenty of time for boarding and enjoy a stress-free holiday trip.
