Additionally, on October 16, the third phase of Line 2 saw the successful breakthrough of the first tunnel section between Humen Avenue Station and Jinjie Road Station. This marks a major step toward completing the extended Line 2, which will further enhance Dongguan's metro network and improve connectivity across the city.

Dongguan Metro Line 2 Phase III

The third phase of Dongguan Metro Line 2, from Humen Railway Station to Jiaoyiwan Station, spans 17.1 km and is set to complete by 2027. 

It will connect Humen with Dongguan's city center and Binhaiwan New Area, improving links and integrating with other planned transit lines, such as Line 3, Shenzhen's Line 20, Guangzhou's Line 22, and regional railways, further enhancing the metro network and supporting Dongguan's integration into the Greater Bay Area.

With the successful completion of key construction milestones on both Metro Line 1 and Line 2's third phase, Dongguan is well on its way to creating a more efficient and interconnected metro network.
