As autumn finally arrives in Dongguan, wet and chilly weather is setting in. After a series of rainy days this week, today offers a brief respite with clearer skies, but temperatures are expected to keep falling, with lows plunging to 12°C.

Dongguan officially enters Autumn

According to the "Autumn Start Standard," Dongguan officially transitioned into autumn on November 19, marking the conclusion of its extended 241-day summer. The criterion for autumn's arrival is defined by the Division of Climatic Seasons (QX/T 152-2012), which specifies that if the moving average temperature stays at or below 22.0°C for five consecutive days, the first day meeting this threshold is considered the start of autumn.

With a blast of cold air，wet days are followed by sunny days

According to the Dongguan Meteorological Observatory, a medium-to-strong cold air will affect the city starting November 25th, bringing intensified northern winds and a temperature drop of 5-7°C. The first part of this week (November 25-26) will be wet and cold, followed by clearer, colder weather from the 27th to the 29th, with a larger temperature difference between day and night.

The lowest temperature will be around 12°C on the morning of November 27th-29th.From the evening of November 25th, cold air will push southward, bringing light to moderate rain. From November 27th, the rain will taper off, giving way to cloudy skies with occasional sunshine.

From November 25th to 27th, the city will experience overcast skies with light to moderate rain, accompanied by a significant drop in temperatures. From November 28th to December 3rd, the weather will be mostly cloudy with colder mornings and evenings.
