In a heartwarming display of appreciation, Dongguan People’s Hospital received a unique gift on January 14, a bilingual banner from Jacub, a long-term Polish resident in Dongguan. The banner, inscribed with "Thank you for giving me a new life," symbolized Jacub's gratitude for the care that transcended language and cultural barriers.

Jacub, who has lived in Dongguan for over a decade, had been battling congenital lumbar scoliosis and spondylolisthesis. Despite undergoing three surgeries abroad, his condition remained unresolved. Trusting the expertise of Dongguan's medical professionals, Jacub sought treatment at Dongguan People's Hospital's Spine Surgery Department.

Led by Director Li Songbo, the medical team conducted detailed evaluations and performed a complex surgery using advanced 3D printing and spinal endoscopy techniques. The operation was a resounding success, allowing Jacub to get out of bed and walk the very next day. Now, he is back to his normal life and well on his way to a full recovery.

Reflecting on his experience, Jacub expressed deep admiration for the hospital staff: "As a foreigner, I initially had concerns about language barriers and unfamiliar procedures. But the entire process exceeded my expectations. The doctors clearly explained every step and treated me with the utmost respect and care. I was particularly moved when Director Li checked on me after a long day of surgeries, even though it was New Year’s Day.”

Director Li emphasized the challenges of revision surgeries and the team's dedication to excellence: "Such surgeries are high-risk and demanding, but we’re glad Jacub trusted us. Dongguan has made significant advancements in 3D printing, electrophysiology, and spinal endoscopy, allowing us to provide cutting-edge care to patients."
