On March 18, the Dongguan City Image Exhibition & Dongguan Chill Weekend Promotion kicked off at Hong Kong's West Kowloon Railway Station, offering a glimpse into Dongguan's dynamic lifestyle, cultural heritage, and must-try experiences.
The exhibition, running until April 18, features 48 stunning photographic works, 80 trendy art toys, and six curated travel routes tailored for Hong Kong visitors. From the cutting-edge manufacturing aesthetics of Dongguan to its thriving pop culture scene, the display encapsulates the city's transformation into a trendy and youthful metropolis.
With high-speed rail making morning coffee in Hong Kong and lunch with Dongguan's famous roast goose a reality, weekend tourism between the two cities is booming. In 2024 alone, nearly 2 million Hong Kong visitors explored Dongguan, a 12.97% increase from last year. To further strengthen this exchange, Hong Kong and Dongguan tourism associations signed new collaboration agreements, paving the way for deeper cultural and economic ties.
Hong Kong's Secretary for Security Chris Tang and renowned actor Simon Yam, both with deep ties to Dongguan, enthusiastically promoted their hometown. "Dongguan is the perfect place for dragon boat racing!" Yam shared, inviting everyone to experience the city's festive energy during the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival.
Russian artist Lelush, who has made Dongguan his second home, described it as a city that blends business and lifestyle perfectly. "I enjoy walking in Dongguan's parks, sipping coffee, and seeing the city grow. The new malls in Nancheng are especially exciting! I highly recommend a visit," he said.
