As mosquito activity peaks during the summer months, Dongguan is taking urgent action to reduce mosquito density and prevent the spread of mosquito-borne diseases such as Dengue Fever and Chikungunya.  

Today, August 1 (Friday), a second round of citywide mosquito eradication campaign will be carried out between 16:00 and 19:00, covering all towns, districts, and industrial parks across Dongguan. This effort is led by the city's task force for the prevention and control of vector-borne diseases.  Authorities will conduct targeted mosquito spraying and disinfection in public and high-risk areas. At the same time, residents are encouraged to take action indoors by using mosquito coils, electric repellent tablets, and other household measures. 

Q:Who should take part?      

All sectors and public spaces are expected to actively participate, including: 

•  Factories and businesses  

•  Construction sites and markets  

•  Tourist attractions and parks  

•  Schools, nursing homes, and residential buildings

Participants are urged to: 

•  Light mosquito coils indoors between 16:00-19:00  

•  Clean up standing water, trash, and hidden breeding grounds  

•  Join local cleanup teams to support outdoor disinfection efforts           

Mosquito-borne illnesses such as Dengue and Chikungunya can spread quickly during the summer.
