Dongguan gears up for the 15th National Games with local-made mascots

As the countdown hits 97 days, excitement is building for the 15th National Games of the People's Republic of China, set to take place this November and December across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Alongside the main event, the region will also host the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympics Games.  

Renowned as a Basketball City and Hometown of Weightlifting, Dongguan will play a key role in this historic sporting event, hosting men's 5-a-side basketball (adult category) and weightlifting competitions.  The test game for the 15th National Games But that's not all Dongguan has to offer. 

The 15th National Games' official mascots, "Xiyangyang" and "Lerongrong", are already making waves. Inspired by the endangered Chinese white dolphin, these adorable mascots are designed to represent both harmony and inclusivity, core values of the Games.
