A rising star from Dongguan, Bai Yulu, burst into tears with excitement after claiming the championship: It is a great honor to bring glory to my country.
This marks a historic breakthrough for Chinese women's snooker at the World Games.
Bai Yulu has become the first Chinese female snooker player to win both the WWS Women's World Championship and the World Games titles.
The 22-year-old from Dongguan secured China’s first-ever World Games snooker gold medal with a commanding 2-0 victory over Thailand’s Narucha in the women’s six-red snooker final.
Bai Yulu shared that, "This championship means a lot to me. It was my first time representing my country at an event like this, and with my family in the stands and my coaches encouraging me throughout, I felt a deep responsibility to fight for my nation. Knowing my teammates were also competing in the semifinals, I hoped that my victory would give them extra motivation and confidence heading into their matches. Seeing our national flag raised and hearing our anthem played on the field was an incredible honor."
