On August 28 in Dalingshan Town, Dongguan, the Hong Kong "80th Anniversary of Victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression" Exchange Group visited Dongguan to commemorate the eventful years of the war and to carry forward the red revolutionary spirit deeply rooted in the nation's memory.
During the visit, the group toured the Guangdong Dongjiang Column Memorial Hall, retracing the arduous journey of the Dongjiang Column during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
They also visited the former site of the Dalingshan Anti-Japanese Base Area, a century-old village that bore witness to the unity of soldiers and civilians amid the flames of war.
In addition, the group went to the Dajing Revolutionary Martyrs Monument, where towering cypresses stand in solemn tribute to the immortal feats of the martyrs who gave their lives for the country.
Li Huiqiong, group leader from Working Group on Patriotic Education shared that, "This period of history must not be forgotten, should not be forgotten, and will never be forgotten. That is why we must continue to contribute our strength to support the country’s development into a strong nation."
"I saw many precious photographs in the memorial hall. I hope that friends from all walks of life, especially teachers and students, can visit these Anti-Japanese heritage sites and memorial halls to learn more about this history."
