On September 3, Beijing's Tian‘anmen Square witnessed a solemn ceremony marking the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The grand military parade paid tribute to a pivotal chapter in history, reminding the nation and the world of the hard-won peace achieved through sacrifice and perseverance.

Among the honored guests invited to witness this historic moment were five representatives from Dongguan, each embodying a different facet of the city's spirit—patriotism, dedication, innovation and unity.

Mo Haotang

Mo Haotang, a decorated entrepreneur and recipient of the national title "Most Beautiful Supporter of the Army," described the occasion as both "the highest honor and a solemn responsibility." Having once served in the army and later devoted himself to rebuilding his hometown, he vowed to continue contributing to Dongguan, a city recognized as a national model for military-civilian solidarity.

Tang Chaorong

Tang Chaorong, a veteran of the renowned Ye Ting Independent Regiment, recalled his battlefield experiences where he earned first-class merit. Witnessing the parade, he reflected on China's transformation, offering heartfelt blessings for the nation's continued prosperity and strength.

Li Zheng

Li Zheng, a skilled craftsman and research manager at Dongguan-based UCAN Robotics, attended as a representative of the nation’s labor heroes. As a National People's Congress delegate and recipient of multiple top honors, he said the invitation was the greatest recognition of the "craftsman's path" of serving the country through skill and innovation.

Luo Aiwu

Luo Aiwu, president of the Dongguan Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Association, also stood proudly at Tian'anmen. With decades of contributions bridging industry and overseas Chinese business communities, he joined in the chorus of Without the Communist Party, there would be no new China, calling the moment "overwhelming, moving and deeply inspiring." Luo said he is more determined than ever to strengthen his work with overseas Chinese entrepreneurs and to continue supporting Dongguan's high-quality development.

Ling Li

Ling Li, part of Dongguan's talent support program in Xinjiang, attended on behalf of those working to strengthen national unity in frontier regions. "It is both an honor and a responsibility," he said, reflecting on nine years of dedication from the factory floor in Dongguan to the Gobi industrial parks of Xinjiang.

As the V-Day commemorations concluded, one emotion united all: pride in the past, confidence in the future, and blessings for a peaceful and prosperous China.
