The basketball competition of the 15th National Games officially tips off in Dongguan tomorrow! From November 4 to 12, fourteen men's teams from across China will battle it out on the courts of this basketball city.
As the teams arrived, Dongguan welcomed them with open arms. At the Dongguan Exhibition International Hotel, athletes were greeted with heartfelt hospitality, from extra-long beds and authentic local cuisine to personalized birthday surprises.
"It really feels like coming home," said player Wang Xiaoming from Team Hubei, smiling as volunteers helped with every detail.
Coach Dai Yong shared similar feelings: "You can feel the strong National Games atmosphere everywhere, from banners in the streets to the cheerful mascots downtown."
Many players are no strangers to Dongguan's courts. Veterans like Gu Quan, Li Muhao, and Zhao Yiming began their careers here, and returning to compete feels both kind and exciting.
To showcase the city's culture, the athletes' hotel also features displays of Dongguan's traditional crafts, including lion dancing, dragon boat racing, and the city's famous agarwood. "Dongguan's basketball culture and hospitality make it an amazing host city," said Zhou Qi, who plays for Team Sichuan this season.
With passionate fans, professional facilities, and warm-hearted service, Dongguan is ready to make this National Games an unforgettable celebration of basketball.
