"At every turn, people tell me the same thing: if you want to make art toys, go to Dongguan," a French art-toy company founder Fred Sis shared before the Dongguan exhibition zone at the 50th Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France. More than 10 Dongguan companies brought over 100 original products to Annecy, spanning mecha figures, plush toys, metal model kits and PVC collectibles.

Three years ago, Fred Sis and his son created the original IP popterror and began working with a Dongguan toy company in Fenggang Town. Supported by the city's mature supply chain, the products quickly found buyers in Europe, Japan and other markets. The series has now received more than 1,000 overseas orders, with a further order for 4,000 pieces recently placed.
