The 16th China International Animation Copyright Fair (ACTIF) concluded in Dongguan after attracting 126,000 visits over five days.

Nearly 2,000 groups of IPs from around the world were showcased, while more than 6,000 domestic and international buyers attended for business discussions. Together, project agreements, intended partnerships and on-site sales generated nearly RMB 4 billion in business opportunities, the strongest results in the fair's history.

This year's event welcomed 500 organizations from more than 20 countries and regions, including 98 exhibitors presenting overseas IPs, twice the number recorded in previous fairs. More than 900 international buyers traveled to Dongguan, while Italy and Thailand set up dedicated booths. The fair also signed its first long-term strategic cooperation agreement with the ASIFA, opening new channels for copyright trading, overseas market development, talent exchange and industry research.

Dongguan's ability to turn creative concepts into commercially viable products drew particular praise from overseas guests. A representative of the Italian animation industry described the city as an ideal place to bring ideas to life, citing its manufacturing expertise built over more than three decades. An Argentine animation director presenting three original IP projects noted that, unlike many overseas festivals focused mainly on financing and distribution, Dongguan offered access to the entire commercialization chain, from merchandise development to brand licensing. A Malaysian film and television company also secured an RMB 80 million cooperation project involving film, AI and animation IPs.

The fair delivered strong results beyond international cooperation. Sixteen major projects worth RMB 2.065 billion were signed for Dongguan's planned art toy, culture and tourism cluster, while exhibitors reported another RMB 1.926 billion in intended deals and on-site sales.
