Museums and outdoor attractions were among the most popular destinations. Sport brought further excitement to the holiday. Basketball and football matches drew enthusiastic crowds, with the Dongguan Basketball League finals and the Guangdong City Football Super League semifinals taking place during the break. Dalang claimed its 12th city basketball league championship on October 7, while food markets and interactive activities turned the games into wider holiday celebrations.
Shopping malls, food streets and markets were also busy throughout the week. Another major draw was the 26th Dongguan International Auto Show, which featured around 1,000 vehicles from 65 brands. The four-day event recorded sales of 5,568 vehicles worth RMB 1.114 billion, providing another clear sign of the city’s strong holiday consumption.
