From May 21 to 25, a delegation with 23 young international talents from 17 countries travelled to Guangdong Province, the second stop of the 2021 Global Young Leaders Dialogue (GYLD) China Tour. These young people visited Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen to get an in-depth perception of the vitality of the reform and opening up in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and experience the unique Lingnan culture.

On May 23, the delegation completed a two-day trip to Guangzhou. Along Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway, the busiest expressway in China, national-level laboratories, sci-tech cities and incubators greeted the international youths' eyes. They arrived in Dongguan, a key node city in the Greater Bay Area. The ecological innovation chain here is becoming better and better, and it is becoming an innovation core in the GBA.

In Xiliubeipo Village, where Huawei's Songshan Lake campus is located, the international youths visited Huawei's R&D park, which is designed after 12 renowned locations in European countries. Later, the green and energy-saving tram sent the delegation to the "Paris Station" in the park. The international youths had in-depth exchanges with Huawei staff and gained a detailed understanding of Huawei's 5G technology and the cutting-edge technological innovations that serve the global development. The delegation also exchanged views with senior executives of Huawei and international experts on topics such as the globalization of Chinese enterprises and the development of China's digital economy at the seminar. They learned about the vigorous development and technological innovation practices of the GBA from the "world factory" to the "world bay area".

To further explore the international technological innovation in the GBA, the delegation also visited Topstar Technology Co, an industrial robot producer in Dongguan. They learned about the overall production line operation of the high-end intelligent enterprise, watched robots playing mahjong, and participated in fun interactive experiences such as Gobang man-machine battle. Through exchanges with its international team, they had a deeper understanding of Chinese private enterprises' transformation and development process from "Made in China" to "Intelligent Manufacturing in China".
