Since April, Guangzhou has reported multiple cases of COVID-19 infections. According to the preliminary judgment of Guangzhou CDC, community transmission may have occurred in the closed-off areas, and there is the possibility of transmission to other areas of Guangzhou. 11 districts in Guangzhou have issued notices today (April 10) to start mass nucleic acid testing for all residents.

Therefore, Dongguan Center for Disease Control and Prevention reminds individuals who have travelled to Guangzhou since March 27 to report to their communities, employers or the hotels they stay in immediately. Meanwhile, they shall cooperate with health management measures such as taking the nucleic acid test and accepting medical observation or health monitoring. The details are as follows:

1.Travellers from the Baiyun District of Guangzhou should practice home quarantine for 3 days plus self-health monitoring at home for another 11 days. In addition, they should receive nucleic acid tests on the 1st, 3rd, 14th days.

2.Travellers who come from other districts of Guangzhou (except Baiyun District) should practice health monitoring at home for 3 days plus self-health monitoring for another 11 days. In addition, they should receive nucleic acid tests on the 1st, 3rd, 14th days.

With the Omicron variant and Delta variant circulating simultaneously, the current epidemic situation is severe and complex as there are sporadic domestic outbreaks and local outbreaks of COVID-19. The general public is asked to pay close attention to the epidemic situation and avoid non-essential trips to medium-/ high-risk areas and epidemic-related areas. Individuals who need to travel to these areas should report proactively after returning to Dongguan and practice corresponding health management measures.

Individuals returning to Dongguan after travelling outside Guangdong Province for tourism or business reasons must take nucleic acid tests 2 times within 3 days upon arrival (with an interval of at least 24 hours) and practice self-health monitoring for 11 days. They should avoid going to places other than their residence and workplaces in the first three days. In principle, they should avoid gatherings and public transportation, including buses and the metro.
