As a pioneer of reform and opening-up, Dongguan has always attached great importance to deepening cultural exchanges and economic cooperation and promoting friendly engagement with our sister cities & friendship cities across the world, achieving mutual progress and development.

Since the first international sister-city relationship in 2001, the global "circle of friends" of Dongguan, an international manufacturing hub, has continued to expand. So far, it has established sister cities or friendly exchange cities with 20 foreign cities and regions, covering 16 countries and regions around the world.

This year, Dongguan has received "friend requests" from four foreign cities, Pančevo of Serbia, Kryvyi Rih of Ukraine, Maringá of Brazil, Barcelos of Portugal. Dongguan's circle of international friends is expected to be expanded in the near future.
