The GBA Switzerland Economic Forum 2025 was successfully held in Dongguan on June 19-20, 2025. Under the theme "Together in Transformation", the event provided a dynamic and practical platform for enterprises from both Dongguan and Switzerland to connect and collaborate. Through high-level dialogues, thematic sessions, expert presentations, company showcases, investment sharing, and on-site visits, the forum significantly deepened and expanded bilateral cooperation.

At the event, the CCPIT Dongguan Committee, together with SwissCham China, and SINO SWISS INNO PARK, jointly launched the Dongguan-Switzerland Economic Cooperation Service Center, marked by an official unveiling ceremony.

The center aims to establish a regularized two-way cooperation mechanism, supporting Dongguan enterprises in entering the Swiss market while introducing Switzerland's advanced technologies and management experience. It will foster mutual investment and industrial synergy, laying the groundwork for an innovation-driven and mutually beneficial industrial ecosystem.

Martin Mueller, President of the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (South China), introduced the project with optimism. The newly established Dongguan-Switzerland Economic Collaboration Center in Daojiao will serve as a multi-dimensional platform to strengthen ties across sectors. He stated, "Although it’s still in the framework stage, this initiative presents opportunities for joint projects across culture, business, education, and beyond."

When sharing insights on Dongguan’s appeal to Swiss companies, he highlighted its strategic location, robust supply chain, and strong manufacturing foundation. "When visitors arrive, their first question is often: ‘Can you introduce us to a manufacturer?’ Fortunately, Dongguan has many high-quality manufacturers and we’re able to connect them with the right partners," he explained.

"Switzerland excels in Vocational Education and Training (VET), a cornerstone of our economic success. We are keen to share this expertise to help young people here build a bright future." SwissCham China continues to promote such exchanges through economic forums and knowledge-sharing in the VET system, a key driver of manufacturing excellence and youth development.

As Mr. Mueller emphasized, Dongguan is undergoing a steady transformation. This collaboration not only reflects Dongguan’s ongoing transition but also aligns perfectly with the forum’s theme, "Together in Transformation," highlighting the strong potential for synergy between the two sides in a rapidly changing global landscape.
